The difference between the FIFA 16 TOTY and TOTS
The FIFA Team of the Year, abbreviated TOTY, is based on a full year of fixtures in all competitions. This team is selected based on player performances from 2014 – 2015, 2013 – 2014 etc. TOTS squads differ as they are based on player performances over the course of an entire season and are based on league performances.
How many players appear in each squad
23 blue informs appear in the community voted TOTS and the EA SPORTS TOTS squads. 18 players appear in the others, with the exception of the MLS All-Stars team which contains 27 players!
What ratings will the TOTS players get?
Because there are so many TOTS players released in such a short space of time you can understand that, generally speaking, they will not be as highly rated as the TOTY informs that were released in January of this year. TOTS players do get significant upgrades however and usually increase by around 4, 5 or 6 OVR points, depending on their current highest OVR rating!
Last year in FUT 15 the BPL Team of the Season had the likes of 95 Hazard, 94 Aguero, 93 Diego Costa, 93 Sanchez and 92 De Gea. The Liga BBVA TOTS included 97 Messi, 98 Ronaldo, 96 Suarez, 95 Neymar and 91 Griezmann. To put it into perspective Messi was rated 98 for the Team of the Year and Ronaldo was rated 99. The only other FIFA 16 cards that will have higher stats may be record breakers and Legends.
How can I get the TOTS players for my team?
You will have to either pack the blue players, or purchase them using your FIFA coins on the FUT Transfer Market. Be warned, these players will fetch a lot of coins though, especially early into their release! The regular versions will remain regular throughout and will no longer be available in packs at the time of their blue counterparts release. Just remember you cannot use the same player at the same time, regardless of whether they are in-form or not.
Can a player feature in two different TOTS squads, with two different in-forms?
Simple answer here, no they cannot have two different in-forms but they can feature in two different TOTS squads with the same card. This is likely if they are selected in the community voted squads and that of a league. Also EA release the Ultimate Team of the Season squad in late June, which will contain all the best players from all the previously released squads.
