EA Sports have removed Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho from FIFA 16 after his failed drugs test.

Weeks ago, the 26-year-old was handed an initial 30-day ban after allegedly testing positive for illegal fat-burning substances, and is currently under investigation by Uefa after deciding to not contest the results.

MAMADOU SAKHO has also been erased from FIFA 16 after the Liverpool defender failed the drug test.

The Frenchman now looks certain to miss out on a place in Laurent Blanc’s Euro 2016 squad as his Anfield fate has more or less been dashed.

Sakho could be banned from football for two years, although teammate Kolo Toure was suspended for just six months after he took his wife’s fat-burning tablets during his time as a Manchester City player.

But EA Sports have shown no sympathy, with FIFA 16’s latest update removing all knowledge of Sakho’s existence even though he is yet to be found officially guilty.

Sakho isn’t the first footballer to be wiped off the FIFA database this season, with disgraced Adam Johnson removed from the game in March after he was convicted of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.
