The special cards, available until Monday, March 21 at 6 p.m. GMT and comprised entirely of Republic of Ireland players, don’t boost player performance in-game in any meaningful way — they have the same ratings as each of the selected players’ normal FUT cards — but are green, in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. They also have a higher discard price like normal Team of the Week cards and a more expensive price range to match.

The feast of St. Patrick is a religious holiday that celebrates Saint Patrick, the patron saint of the Irish. It is also a day when many people took the opportunity to drink at a loss, be they Christian or not! If you are not the type to go get drunk in a bar and you prefer to stay quietly at home to play FIFA, EA has of course thought of you. For the occasion, and until March 21 (at 19h), you’ll be able to compete for the “St. Patrick’s Day Tournament”.By winning the tournament you will be reward with the minimum of 10k FUT coins, in the offline mode. For the online players, the winner will be rewarded with 15k in FUT coins.

Befitting the cards for St. Patrick’s Day are kept green. 23 (of course, Irish / Northern Irish) players are still available until March 21 in Ultimate mode. These special cards are very popular and much more expensive, even though they have not much different sets values from the normal FIFA 16 cards usually.
