Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo set a new record in football as the only player to have scored 50 or more goals for six consecutive seasons.


The Portuguese striker scored his 50th goal in all competition this season during Real Madrid 2-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday. Ronaldo scored both goals to bring his tally to 51 this season so far. 35 of those goals were scored in La Liga, while 16 was scored in the Champions League.

The 31-year-old striker could add more goals to his tally in the Champions League finals against Atletico Madrid.

Since 2010/2011 season, Ronaldo has scored over 50 goals in all competitions, making him the first player in history to achieve the milestone.

Cristiano Ronaldo will also have to overcome a mild injury he suffered during Saturday’s game. He was subbed by coach Zinedine Zidane at halftime.
